James Pendell – Pastor

James Pendell is our Pastor. Born and raised in Asheboro, North Carolina, Pastor James attended Farmer Elementary School, SWRMS, and Randolph Early College High School before earning his Bachelor’s in Pastoral Ministry from John Wesley College in High Point, North Carolina. Pastor James spent eight years ministering in the Church of the Nazarene in the state of Georgia. He is glad to be back ministering in his hometown. James met his wife Allie in Georgia. Allie was born and raised in Georgia. Allie has previously ministered as a Hospice Nurse but is currently homeschooling James and Allie’s daughters, Lilly and Nakita.

Jennifer York – Children’s Pastor

Jennifer is a native of Yadkin County. She has a degree in Christian Education and Missions from Gardner-Webb, and two Master’s, Pastoral Ministry and Philosophy of Religion, from Carolina School of Divinity. She is an recorded minister and served 20 years as a children, youth and young adult pastor, in both Quaker and Wesleyan churches.

Jennifer and her husband, Corey, have four children: LeeAnn (who went to her heavenly home last year), Madalynn, Ainsley and David Todd and a dog named Riley. They enjoy traveling with Madalynn’s cheer team and doing everything together as a family.

Judy Hobbs – Office Administrator

Judy graduated from Asheboro High School in 2002 and later earned a Theological Biblical Ministry degree. She is a proud mother of two wonderful boys; David age eight and Joshua age 12, and share this joy with her husband of 14 years. With her husband, she has been apart of a new church start, evangelistic outreaches, and missions in Bolivia, South America. She and her family are members of Buelah Baptist church in Bennett.

Monthly Meeting and Hopewell Teams

The second Sunday of each month following the morning service, we have a Monthly Meeting where everyone’s voice can be heard. At this meeting, decisions are made for the church.

We have teams that are responsible for things from ministries to building maintenance. Below you will meet the 3 teams you are most likely to interact with. Below them, you will find our other teams. There is also a brief description of the responsibilities for all teams.
